Mat-Su neighbors. Local problems. Practical solutions.

You’re not the only one.

There are others in the Valley who notice the same problems you do—and want to work together on practical ways to solve them.

Better starts with finding one another.

MatSuBlue is a growing community for people across the Mat-Su Valley who want to make everyday life better through empathy, reliable information, practical solutions, and respectful conversation.

Ground rules for useful work

Start with everyday life.

Focus on the problems people notice at home, at work, and around the Valley.

Use local facts.

Prefer primary and local sources, and say plainly what we still need to learn.

Listen before prescribing.

People understand their own lives. Good solutions start by hearing them.

Disagree without disrespect.

Useful civic conversation does not require everyone to agree.

Begin with what people experience.

Making life affordable

Look at the everyday costs putting pressure on Valley households and which changes are possible locally or at the state level.

Housing people can afford

Explore what makes safe, stable housing difficult to find and what practical options deserve serious consideration.

Strong schools and community services

Pay attention to the public institutions people rely on and how they can serve the Valley well.

No upcoming meetups yet

We’re planning a mix of low-pressure in-person and virtual gatherings around Wasilla, Palmer, and the wider Mat-Su. Check back soon for the first event.

Start where you are.

Political involvement does not have to begin with a campaign, a meeting full of strangers, or knowing all the right words. It can begin by noticing a problem and meeting someone else who notices it too.

Keep up with the Valley.

A newsletter is being planned for local events, issue explainers, relevant Alaska developments, ballot measures, volunteer opportunities, and recommended local reporting.

Newsletter signup is coming soon.
